bpr worked closely with Veale Associates who were the acoustic consultants to develop an acoustic attenuation strategy which could allow for the provision of Music facilities within this existing building. Individual practice rooms were provided within prefabricated acoustic booths, while the creation of rehearsal spaces and a performance space required extensive acoustic lining and partitioning.
The renovation created facilities for Dance which included dressing rooms, and a Dance theatre space with full lighting rig and sound booth. bpr consulted closely with the end users in order to provide specialist floor surfaces suited to differing types of movement, and to reconfigure existing moveable partitions to create a flexible theatre space with retractable seating to allow for a variety of performance styles.
